Know what your groceries actually cost.
Shop reads your supermarket receipts, builds a picture of what your household really buys, and shows you where the same items cost less.
The problem
Most households have no idea where their grocery money goes. Not because the information is unavailable — it is printed in full on every receipt — but because nobody is going to sit down and type hundreds of line items into a spreadsheet.
So prices drift upward unnoticed, the same product sits at very different prices in different stores, and a family can spend hundreds more per year than it needs to without ever seeing the pattern.
How it works
-
Submit a receipt
Photograph or upload the receipt from your shop. No manual entry, no app-specific loyalty card required.
-
Automatic extraction
Optical character recognition reads the receipt and pulls out each line item — product, quantity, price, store, and date — as structured data.
-
AI interpretation
Receipt text is abbreviated, inconsistent, and store-specific. A language model turns those cryptic strings into recognisable products and groups them into categories, so the same item bought at two different chains is understood as the same item.
-
Insight
Over time this builds a personal price history: what you buy, how often, at what price, and how that compares across the stores you use. From it, Shop surfaces where your money is actually going and where the same basket costs less.
